Now on my 25th Week!

The baby now weighs nearly 1.5 pounds/ 660 grams and is approximately 13.5 inches/ 35 centimeters long from crown to heel. He makes breathing movements but has no air in his lungs yet. At 26 weeks, fetal brain scans show response to touch. If you shine a light on your abdomen, your baby will turn his head, which according to researchers, means his optic nerve is working.

At every prenatal visit, your doctor will take your blood pressure and do tests on a sample of your urine. In this way, pregnancy-related conditions such as pre-eclampsia and diabetes can be detected and treated.

Your fingers, wrists and hands may be feeling achy and numb. The carpal tunnel in the wrist is swollen, as are many other tissues in your body. Nerves that run through the tunnel end up pinched, creating pressure that manifests itself as shooting or burning pain. Wearing a brace may help; so will taking vitamin B6. Talk to your doctor about other ways to cope. Find out about natural remedies for numb or achy fingers.

Last week me and Jay were on Robinsons to buy his basketball shoes and we saw the cutest Nike shoes ever! I sow anted to buy one for Adam since they cost P800-P1,500 only (pretty steep if you'll consider the fact that they are just like 2 inches long and will just fit him for 2 months or so). Jay said that his Ate will be giving us Micah's Nike shoes for Adam to use. Pamana! Micha is the only boy in the brood until now so all his cutesy clothes, shoes and toys will be given to Adam. I have little qualms in using second hand things. I am the eldest in our brood and I am the one who usually give out hand me downs. But Jay said that Micah only used them for a month or two so they won't be gasgas. Sige na nga. But I'll be buying my son his first owned Nike shoes din! :)

Finally had the chance to have my ultrasound last October 14.

We are having a baby BOY!

It's not what we expected but hey, boys are hard to make. And it's our child. We were just surprised, that's all, since I didn't manifest the signs. Blooming nga daw so we thought the baby's gonna be a girl.

So it's going to be JAY ADAM.

Can't wait to go shopping for lil Adam. I hope he gets his father's looks. :)

Now on My 23rd Week!

Hello Arvee!
23 weeks pregnant

Feeling energetic and excited about the forthcoming birth? If you find yourself dancing around the house with joy, your baby will hear the music and feel you sway, since his hearing and sense of movement are well developed now. He's also started blinking his eyelids. At the end of this week, your baby becomes "viable". This means that he has a chance of survival if he makes an early arrival. However, with each week that passes, he becomes more and more mature and better able to cope with the outside world.

Well I hope s/he still won't come up thou. =)

Ultrasound is finally set this week! Yay! We will finally know if it's Jay Adam or Hannah Agatha! Will be going this Wednesday. Finally, we will now know! I am anxious to buy those gorgeous jumpsuit I saw at SM last week. I will be buying two set of clothes - pambahay and for pictorial purposes. hehe I don't want my baby to look gusgusin on his/her pictorial. My baby will have good fashion sense this early! But all is not well and dandy. Baby is too small, OB said. I may be shifting vitamins soon to remedy this. My appetite is not helping either since I don't feel like eating a lot these past few days. I actually feel like vomiting. Also, my singit feels painful from time to time. Does this mean my womb is too mababa? I sure hope not since this can lead to a CS operation. Birth funds are almost 100% intact soon and that gives me relief. I can now focus on just being well and dandy.

Can't wait for Wednesday!

Now on My 22nd Week!

Last week was crazy with Typhoon Ondoy rampaging everyone and everything on its path that's why I was unable to post my baby developments for the week. Won't happen this week though.

Hello Arvee!
22 weeks pregnant

The baby now weighs almost one pound/ 430 grams, measures nearly 11 inches/ just over 27 centimeters long from crown to heel, and is proportioned like a newborn, albeit a thinner version since her baby fat hasn't yet developed. Although she's getting heavier every day, her skin still appears wrinkled because she needs to gain more weight. The lips are distinct and the eyes are formed, though the iris (the colored part of the eye) still lacks pigment. The pancreas, essential in the production of hormones, is developing steadily.

Even this early, the first signs of teeth appear in the form of tooth buds beneath the gum line. Before you know it, your baby will be born, and soon after, her first teeth will come through.

You've probably gained between 12 and 15 pounds/ 5.4 and 6.8 kilograms. Starting now, you'll begin to put on weight more steadily, averaging about half a pound/ 225 grams per week. You may crave certain foods and you may notice an increased (but not bloody) vaginal discharge. Both are a normal part of being pregnant.

I'm growing to be pretty big already. Well, smaller still for my month but big nonetheless. My tummy is now more noticeable which makes me happy coz I don't want baby to be really small. I want him/her to be small enough for me to deliver the normal way but not so small that s/he will be malnourished.

My next check up is this 14th but I'm moving it to the 17th. I will be 6 months pregnant by that time and I'm really hoping the doctor will now give me the go to have the gender ultrasound. I really am excited to find out if baby will be a girl or a boy. Already people are predicting the baby will be a girl coz I'm more prettier DAW than usual and I agree! haha I sure hope we are getting a girl. =)

Now on My 19th Week!

Hello Arvee!
19 weeks pregnant

Congratulations! You've hit the halfway mark in your pregnancy. You'll start growing even more rapidly in the weeks to come, so don't be surprised if you find yourself slowing down. If you feel the urge to indulge in an afternoon nap, go for it, if you can — you and your baby deserve it. Her hearing is developing, and she'll be getting used to the sound of your voice. Tiny teeth are also forming in her gums.

Also on another baby center article

You're halfway there! The top of your uterus now reaches your belly button and will grow about a centimeter per week. The fetus measures around 6 inches/ 15 centimeters long from crown to rump and weighs about 9 ounces/ 240 grams.

She has started to swallow amniotic fluid, and her kidneys continue to make urine. Hair on the scalp is sprouting.

Sensory development reaches its peak this week. The nerve cells serving each of the senses - taste, smell, hearing, seeing, and touch - are now developing in their specialized areas of the brain. Nerve cell production slows down as existing nerve cells grow larger and make more complex connections. If you're carrying a baby girl, she already has roughly six million eggs in her ovaries. By the time she's born, she'll have about one million.

You may have felt the kicking and somersaulting of your growing baby. At times, you might find that she is so mobile that you can't sleep. The next ten weeks or so will be your baby's busiest and most active time, until the womb gets too crowded.

I just came from the doctor for my monthly check up and baby is fine although I am a little anemic and my asthma is worse. I have been prescribed to take my inhaler till the 9th month of my oregnancy. That's additional P1,300 for me. *sigh* My lung doctor said that if my asthma won't be under control till my 9th month then I MIGHT have trouble giving birth the normal way. Yaikes! I so wanted to give birth the normal way coz 1. it's waaaaaaaaaay cheaper and 2. the meds can hurt not just me but baby. So I really am doing my best to get things under control. My OB also told me that I gained 7 lbs but where did the pounds go? I am no fatter than before and my tummy is growing in slow motion. I also don't have much of an appetite and sometimes just consume half a cup of rice. Must be the water.

Heard baby's heartbeat again today. It's around 150. Really hoping we can see baby's gender next month!

Now on My 18th Week!

Hello Arvee!
18 weeks pregnant

Your baby is twice as big as he was last month but he still weighs only about 190g (6.7oz). Meanwhile, most of the weight you've gained is from amniotic fluid, placenta, and water retention. Although things may seem calm on the surface, your little one is kicking, flexing, reaching, rolling, and even sucking his thumb now. If you haven't felt him move yet, you will in the next few weeks. His hearing is now functioning and he will be listening to your heartbeat.

Baby is kinda big now. In 2 weeks time we can now opt to see the baby's gender. I am rooting for a girl and so is my husband and family but isn't my blog skin yelling "I'm gonna be a boy?" Hmm..a boy will be okay too but as much as apossible we want a girl. Why? Because girls are more fun to dress up! haha We are thinking of the baby in terms of dolls and toys. :) Anyway, my Tummy should be a lot bigger in my opinion but it is still so small that tpeople still mistake me for being not pregnant. My favorite instance was when I was asked why I didn't avail of the free massage being given in our office. The person thinks it's my time of the month! And I was on my fourth month! I wish that baby will get a little bigger - at least the normal size as stated in the development chart.
