Now on My 10th Week!

I've subscribed to Baby Center's for my weekly updates on my growing baby and this is what it has to say on Baby Hanna/Adam's developments for this week:

Your baby has tiny fingernails now and the ability to kick, swallow, and move. That's quite impressive for someone who's only the size of a lipstick case. That will change soon; within the next few weeks, your featherweight child should double in size. You may notice your clothes getting tighter as your uterus is now almost big enough to fill your pelvis.

Can't wait to wear maternity clothes. I'm sick of our office's uniform! Hehe!

Insomia solved!

I was having problems sleeping these past two weeks that I've been on bed rest. I know it's ronic. I should be resting but my mind refused to let me sleep. I would usually doze off around 1-1:30am. I attributed this problem to a lot of factors - the light in our neighbor is too bright and is streaming in our room and everybody knows I have to have a pitch black room in order for me to sleep easily or I'm so rested from doing nothing that come evening I cannot simply have more rest. But since I've read last week that it is normal from pregnant women to experience insomia in pregnancy, my mind quieted a little but still refused to let me sleep. At least what I am experiencing is normal! But yesterday, my insomia was finally cured when I dozed off immediately after hitting the sack. You see, yesterday was my first day back at work and it gave me the "exercise" I need to finally sleep well last night. So I guess it is reason number two after all, eh?

Now on my Eight Week!

I've been an absentee mommy blogger feeling nothing to write because I have just been staying home doing nothing so that my baby will finally be safe. My life has been a big bore lately but surprisingly I am very much liking it. I like it so much that I don't want to go to work again. Ha! anyway, finally put my energy to good use and signed up for a newsletter from babycenter.ph. The website is so useful and it will give you weekly updates on your baby. Here's what it has to say about my baby for this week:

How your baby's growing

The tiny tail is disappearing and so many changes have taken place that your baby has changed from an embryo and is now officially a fetus. This is the critical stage when your baby's organs are forming. Read more information on your baby's development this week.

The baby is now constantly moving and shifting, though you won't be able to feel anything for several weeks. The arms have grown and the hands are now flexed at the wrists and meet over the heart. The legs are lengthening and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. It's still almost impossible to tell whether you're going to have a boy or a girl.

The article gave me more pressure to read everything that I can get my hands on and to start playing the piano again so that the baby's brain will really develop. But then again, I'm sure my kid will be smart and intelligent. After all, we are giving him/her some very good genes! *wink*

House Arrest

And so I was ordered to stay at home to rest for two weeks. Had my first ultrasound today, which was a really weird experience, and my due date was determined to be February 6. I hope the baby's birthday will be the same as my bestfriend's kid, Danielle, who is also my inaanak.
